Modern Quilting – 2017 Challenge

I have decided to attempt to do a MQG Fabric Challenge, but I don’t know if I will complete this challenge by April 30th. At this point I have no visions of grandeur of my spectacular work gracing the stage of Quilt Con or any of those things as there are just too many forces against me, nevertheless I find that challenges force me to try new techniques and hone my quilting ability’s.

The Creative Rock star challenge fabric by Riley Blake is very modern and fun, but some of the colors are not in my normal comfort zone. I have a natural proclivity to gravitate towards cool colors and avoid Orange and Yellow fabrics like they are poisonous. Wouldn’t you know it, one of the predominate colors for this challenge is orange. Rather than expel the orange from my project, my plan is to try and make it a focal point.

My other challenge is that Riley Blake fabric is not sold (specifically the approved solids) are not sold in Bozeman. The only way to participate in this challenge is to order fabrics online and hope they get deliver in a timely manner.

I have a lot of Ideas bubbling in the back of my head but nothing is concrete. On a side note, I keep getting Aerosmith songs in my head so maybe the universe is trying to give me inspiration. We shall see!
