These quilts "tend" to have:

  • Negative space

  • Relies heavily on neutrals and Solid

  • have asymmetrical designs

  • are quilting on a home sewing machine

  • have improvisational piecing, large blocks or made fabrics.

MQG Swap Mini quilt

This is a mini (24x24)" quilt that I made using improvisational piecing and deconstruction techniques. This was quilted with my DHSM with a double layer of Wool batting. Both Free motion and Walking foot echoing.

MQG Swap close up

This quilt was a representation of Modern Quilting and Montana. Tree grains, and a touch of traditionalism. The tree grains are less the an 8th inch apart.

Bozeman MQG Rafle Quilt

This quilt was pieced by the Bozeman MQG. It was quilted with a single expanding spiral staring at the center of the quilt. Quilted on my DHSM.

POP Modern Quilt

Taking the MQG challenge fabric and a Vogue like drawing I created this quilt, All sewing and quilting Done on my DHSM.

This is my MQG Challenge Quilt. Using both whole cloth, applique and echoing techniques. This was quilted on my DHSM.
